Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Loktej, owned and operated by Taptilok Publication, handles information related to readers of the Loktej app and website.

Information We May Collect:
The Loktej app may use an anonymous reader profile to remember basic app preferences such as read history, selected categories, dismissed notices and notification preference. This helps improve the reading experience without requiring mandatory reader login.

Notifications:
If you choose to enable notifications, the app may store a notification token generated through Firebase Cloud Messaging or a similar notification service. This token is used only to send news alerts and app-related notifications. You can disable notifications from your browser, device settings or app notification settings.

Read History and Preferences:
The app may store anonymous read history and category preferences to show relevant content and avoid repeatedly showing the same items. These records are linked to an anonymous reader identifier, not a mandatory login account.

Delete Your Data:
You can delete the anonymous reader data linked to your current browser or device through the Delete Your Data page:

This deletes the anonymous reader profile data linked with the current browser/device, such as read history, selected category preferences, dismissed notices and notification preference stored by the app. If you have a separate privacy request, you may also contact us at editor@loktej.com.

Logs and Technical Data:
We and our service providers may process basic technical information required for security, debugging, notification delivery, fraud prevention, app performance and system maintenance.

This may include app or SDK launch information, error or diagnostic information, device-related technical details, network information and records necessary to investigate failed requests or prevent misuse.

Advertising and Third-Party Services:
Loktej may display its own advertisements and advertisements provided through third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense and Google AdMob.

When Google AdMob or another advertising service is enabled in the Android app, the advertising provider may automatically collect or process information such as:

  • the device's IP address, which may be used to estimate an approximate or general location;
  • interactions with the app and advertisements, such as app launches, taps, ad views and video views;
  • diagnostic and performance information, such as app or SDK launch time, crashes, hangs and related technical data; and
  • device or other identifiers, including the Android advertising ID, app set ID or similar identifiers where available.

This information may be used for advertising or marketing, analytics, ad measurement, fraud prevention, security and compliance.

Depending on the user's location, device settings, consent choices and applicable law, advertisements may be personalised, non-personalised or limited. Loktej does not sell reader personal data to advertisers.

Consent and Privacy Choices:
Where required by applicable privacy laws, Loktej may display a consent message before requesting advertisements or allowing advertising services to process data for certain purposes.

The consent message may allow users to:

  • consent to the available advertising and data-processing purposes;
  • decline consent;
  • manage individual purposes and advertising partners; and
  • review or change their privacy choices later through the privacy options available in the app.

Users may also manage or reset the Android advertising ID through their device settings. The availability and effect of individual choices may depend on applicable law, the user's location and the services enabled in the app.

Payments:
Loktej does not currently collect subscription payments or paid reader payments through the app. If paid services are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated before such services are used.

Data Sharing:
We do not sell reader personal data to advertisers.

Information may be processed or shared with service providers required for hosting, notifications, analytics, security, fraud prevention and advertising delivery. These providers may include Firebase services, Google AdMob and other services enabled by Loktej.

Such processing is subject to applicable laws, user consent choices where required, the provider's terms and its privacy practices.

Copyright, Corrections and Removal Requests:
If you believe any published text, image, video or information requires correction, proper credit or removal, please contact us at editor@loktej.com. We will review the request and take appropriate action.

Data Deletion and Privacy Requests:
For privacy questions, notification token removal, anonymous reader data deletion or related requests, contact us at editor@loktej.com.

Deleting Loktej's anonymous reader profile does not necessarily delete information independently processed by third-party services. Users may manage advertising identifiers and related privacy controls through their Android device settings and may review consent choices through the privacy options provided in the app where available.
